While video games are fun alone, they instantly improve when playing with others. Whether building a kingdom, racing to a finish line, or working to take down another team, video games are a great way to bond with loved ones. If you’re looking to stay in this Valentine’s Day, or just want to spend more time with your boo, why not try a video game? Here are a few that will cater to all kinds of gamers!

It Takes Two

There are few more dynamic duos than Cody and May in the adventure game It Takes Two. You and your teammate of choice play a married couple on the brink of divorce who find themselves magically transported into the bodies of two small dolls. You’ll have to work together to find your way back to your bodies while also working to repair your relationship. The game is a genre mashup, combining adventure, platformer, and puzzle elements. The story is a sweet tale of the hardships and triumphs of love and will bring you and your partner closer together. The game is available on most Windows, Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime

If you’re in the market for fast-paced yet adorable gameplay, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime could be for you! This 2D, neon space game sees you and up to 3 other players working to man a spaceship as you travel the depths of space. Each player is tasked with manning their station, and only through teamwork will you be able to defeat the trials of space travel. This game works well with two players, but is great for double dates or polycules! This game is also available on Windows, Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch.

Fortnite

If you’re alive on this planet you’ve probably heard of Fortnite. This bright, poppy, battle royale game has plenty of opportunities for partner play. Whether you team up or battle against each other, there’s no denying that you’ll probably be playing this game for hours. If you’re a fan of shooter games or just want to have a silly time with your loved one, it’s hard to go wrong with Fortnite. Fortnite is available on basically any platform you can think of.

Stardew Valley

If you’ve read any articles from our chapter, you’ve probably already been sold on how amazing of a game Stardew Valley is. This farming sim is the true epitome of a cozy game. Luckily enough, there is also a cooperative mode where you can work on building the perfect farm with others. The game moves so much faster when you have more hands to help, and before you know it you’ll be finishing the community center and raking in the big bucks. It’s great for cooperative play if one partner wants to farm while the other wants to fight in the caves, or one is on a mission to befriend all the NPCs and the other is intent on petting every animal daily. Stardew Valley is also available on pretty much every platform, but some do not allow cross-play, so make sure to check before you invest!
