As the semester was ending, I was trying to think of something I wanted to write for my last article. I debated on the simple “My Experience as a College Freshman”, or even “Things That Helped Me Get Through College.” Instead, I decided on a topic I haven’t written about yet but is very dear to my heart: video games. Specifically, ones that will be released in the future. Many games I’m excited about don’t yet have dates for them, which can be frustrating but I’m very patient. However, there are a few that are coming out very soon that I’m super excited about. Here are the video games I’m looking forward to.
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly (April 20, 2023)
The sequel to Coffee Talk, Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly. This is a game where you make coffee at a coffee shop and learn the stories of the customers. What I love about this game is the fantasy element to it: the customers aren’t all human. While it may be a simple game about making coffee, the interactions between the customers and their stories make the game something else entirely.
Redfall (May 2, 2023)
An open-world, single-player game surrounding the town of Redfall, Massachusetts. Suddenly, this town is taken over by vampires and you must ally with other survivors in order to save Redfall. While I don’t know too much about this game, the world itself looks super fun! I’m a big enjoyer of open worlds and fantasy games, which encapsulates this game perfectly.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (May 12, 2023)
The highly anticipated sequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally comes out in less than a month! This game will be similar to its predecessor in the way that it is open-world. However, Link will now have new powers, and more locations will be added. I’ve been waiting for this game ever since it was announced, so I’m highly anticipating it.
