Tyler’s Take: Christy Carlson Romano’s Instagram

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

I don’t want to speak on behalf of all my Her Campus readers, but I think it is pretty safe to say that we all know someone whose Instagram profile is nothing less than a cry for help. Between the blurry pictures and the excess hashtags, I can only hope that these messy Instagrammers are pretty dope individuals in real life, however they don’t fully understand this medium as a whole.  Get ready because I am going to use a picture from the legendary Christy Carlson Romano’s Instagram feed as an example, so buckle up and hang on for the ride!

But before we start, for those of you who are unaware of this Disney goddess, Christy Carlson Romano (a.k.a: CCR) played some iconic roles in some childhood classics such as Ren in Even Stevens and Kim Possible as well as some Oscar-worthy Disney channel flicks, in my opinion.

Above is a throwback photo of CCR in which she is portraying Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Get it, girl! She explains that it is an old photograph (taken directly from Getty Images, no less) and that she is excited for the upcoming live action movie remake hitting theaters later this year. This for sure is an adorable picture at first glance, no doubt. However, please feel free to zoom in on that hashtag usage because things are about to get a little bumpy. Notice how CCR is veeerrry hashtag #happy when it comes to dishing some highlights to her captions. I mean she even slides in both spellings of theatre (or theater).

I don’t want to harp on CCR too much though because at the end of the day, hashtags and questionable why-did-you-upload-that? photographs never hurt anybody. I actually think these types of Instagram accounts speak volumes to their whole-hearted owners.  It shows a humbleness that I truly admire and look for in any social media platform!
