Shows We Binged on Winter Break and Our Thoughts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Since Lasell had an extended winter break, I had a lot of time to get caught up on Netflix and binge watch some new shows. Here is the list of what I watched and what I thought of the shows!

  1. New Girl: New Girl follows a school teacher named Jess who leaves her boyfriend and ends up moving in with three guys that she found when she was looking for an apartment on Craigslist. Each of these guys has their own fun and quirky personality that adds to the fun and hilariousness that the show provides. This was actually my second time watching the show, and I fell in love with it all over again. I laughed my way through most of the show, and would recommend it to anyone!

  2. Bridgerton: Bridgerton is the new show that is capturing mixed emotions on Netflix. Even though most of the overall population loves it, some people are not into the fact that it is a period piece. I happened to love the show. Daphne is being entered into society as a young woman and due to this, has to find a man to marry. Her family is of high stature within the community and when her brother’s friend, who is a Duke comes to visit, their lives are tangled and they must decide if it is true love and if they want to be married. The show also has a little bit of mystery, as there is a gossip column going around and everyone wants to know who it is.

  3. Bling Empire: This is a new reality show on Netflix. It is about a group of friends who claim to be the real-life version of the movie, “Crazy Rich Asians.” They have many extravagant parties, dress in high fashion, go through many of life’s toughest issues, and create close bonds and friendships. I totally recommend this show!

  4. Tiny Pretty Things: This is one of the best shows I have ever watched. It is a mystery show that surrounds an elite ballet school. One of the top ballerinas is pushed off the roof, and it goes through the investigation of the case, as well as unveils the many scandals that go on there. It is a very interesting show, because every episode makes you think that the ballerina is pushed by a different person. It does a really good job of keeping you interested and making you want to get to the end to know who truly did it.

  5. Grace and Frankie: This is a hilarious show that has a lot of friendships, love, and understanding. Grace and Frankie are two older ladies who were left shocked when their husbands leave them for each other. They now have to navigate the world while dealing with what happened, and they do it together, even though they couldn’t be any more different. It has great story progression and overall is a very good show to watch.

Let us know what you thought of these shows and if you have any new recommendations for us, we would love to check them out!
