Restaurant Review: Papa Razzi in Wellesley, MA

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Papa Razzi is an Italian restaurant with two locations in Wellesley, MA, and Concord, NH. Today I’ll be reviewing the Wellesley location. Papa Razzi’s prices are average for an Italian restaurant, with dinner entrees ranging from about $15-$30 per adult. They also have a kids menu, plus vegetarian and gluten-free options. Their operating hours are Sun-Thurs 11:30 am to 9 pm, and Fri-Sat 11:30 am to 10 pm. You can easily call 781-235-4747 to make a reservation or ask for more information!

Menu and Quality of Food

Overall, Papa Razzi has a large menu with a good number of options. I’m a picky eater, and there were still several things on the menu that looked delicious, without the options being overwhelming. Our server brought out warm bread with olive oil and balsamic as a starter, which was delicious. For my entree, I ordered the Gemelli Carbonara, which was pasta with pancetta, peas, black pepper, cream, egg, and pea tendrils. Gemelli is a tightly spiraled pasta, and with the cream sauce and peas, it was absolutely amazing. I wish the pancetta had been a little more crispy, but overall the meal itself was amazing.

Atmosphere and Design

The atmosphere at Papa Razzi is comfortable and relaxed. There’s a beautiful fireplace with stone detailing, and the tables are spread out enough where you can have a conversation without it feeling too cramped or loud. This is a great place to dine for any occasion, whether it’s a family or business event, a date, or with friends. The lighting is dim and the interior is dark, which adds to the classic, timeless atmosphere.

Customer Service and Cleanliness

The staff here are very friendly, and the overall environment is well kept and clean. The host greeted us with a smile and we were quickly led to a table, followed by amazing and quick service from our server as well. There weren’t many people there, most likely due to Covid-19, but we did appreciate the quick service; that being said, we didn’t feel rushed either so it was a good balance!

Rating and Recommendation: 4 Stars

I would definitely recommend Papa Razzi in Wellesley. The prices were reasonable, the food was filling and tasted amazing, and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. If you live in the area, this could be a great alternative to your favorite chain Italian restaurant. Support the smaller businesses and get some amazing, authentic Italian food at Papa Razzi today!
