Ranking Taylor Swift’s exes from my least favorite to my favorite

We all know the pop icon Taylor Swift. Many of us know her for her multitude of love songs and her songs that can fit literally any situation. Many of these songs have won awards, including her song All too Well (10 minute version)(Taylor’s Version)(From the Vault) that won a 2023 Grammy Award. However, this article is less about her songs and more about who these songs are about. I will be ranking some of Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriends from my least favorite to my favorite.

7. Jake Gyllenhaal

After listening to All too Well (Taylor’s Version)(10 minute version)(From the Vault) there was no way he wasn’t going to be my least favorite. They had a nine year age gap which surprisingly isn’t the biggest age gap in Taylor Swift’s relationships. However, some lines in the song are nearly impossible for you to not hate him. These being, “He said ‘if we had been closer in age maybe it would’ve been fine’, and that made me want to die” and “You kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath”. I just have one thing to ask Mr. Gyllenhaal: where’s the scarf Jake?

6. Calvin Harris

Personally Calvin Harris did Taylor Swift so dirty with not giving her credit on the song she wrote. In the song This is What You Came For, you can slightly hear some vocals from Taylor Swift in the background. Though, unless you focus on it, the only person you hear is Rhianna. He also did her wrong by refusing to do a collab with her. However, he did play a part by being one of the inspirations for her album Reputation, which is personally one of my favorite albums.

5. John Mayer

I know what you guys are thinking. John Mayer should not be this high up on the list. However, John Mayer and I have a love-hate relationship. As much as I hate what he did to Taylor Swift, especially after listening to Dear John on her Speak Now album and Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve on her most recent album Midnights, I cannot ignore his musical talent. As a guitar player myself he is a big icon in the guitar community, much like Taylor herself. Despite this, I will always choose Taylor over John.

 4.Joe Jonas

Next up is Mr. Perfectly Fine. As a big fan of Joe Jonas when I was a kid, my view of him changed after listening to this song from her album Fearless. However I don’t really have much to say about him especially since they are on neutral terms now.

3. Taylor Lautner

Taylor Lautner honestly didn’t do anything wrong to Taylor. He was there for her when Kanye West ruined her speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. There is not a single negative song about him. Taylor2 was quite the power couple.

2. Harry Styles

Harry never goes out of Style. He has made a big career in music after One Direction went many directions. As a big Harry Styles fan, I can say I was disappointed in him when I found out he ditched her on a vacation to hang out with other girls. Though, they seem to be on good terms now so hopefully a collab will be coming in the near future.

Last but certainly not least:

1. Tom Hiddleston

“Nothing good starts in a Getaway Car”. Mr Hiddleston was the number 1 Taylor Swift stan when they were dating. He was seen wearing a “I heart TS” t-shirt at a beach and I honestly love this energy. However, Taylor didn’t feel the same about their relationship which was started at the Met Gala. Thus the song Getaway Car was written. I think out of all her exes, Tom was the one that Taylor Swift did the most dirty. Even so, Getaway Car is a bop, so I can’t be too upset about it.
