A Practical Christmas, as Told by a College Student

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  We LOVE the holidays here at HC Lasell.  Going home for the holidays just got a bit sweeter with our holiday-themed articles this week perfect to get even the Grinch into the holiday spirit.  Grab your hot cocoa and dive in!

“What do you want for Christmas?” That is a college student’s least favorite question around the holidays. We are away at school, so it is hard to get big items as they may not fit in our dorms, and we are too old for toys. Here are some ideas that every college student can enjoy:

1. Clothes

Clothes can get expensive and it may be hard to get to a nearby store to pick some up. Asking for some for Christmas can be a perfect way to get some new items. Stores such as Old Navy and JC Penny’s are some of my top choices for quality and stylish clothes.

2. Vacuum

A small vacuum can be a perfect gift for a college student, as dorm rooms tend to get dirty fast. Cordless vacuums are huge right now and can fit perfectly in hard to reach places.

3. Gift Cards

Gift cards are one of the best options for college students. It allows them to order needed items online, go to their favorite restaurants, or go out and do something fun.

4. Money

Money is a great gift for college kids. They can use it for their books, and to be able to go out and do things as well.

5. Toiletries

Toiletries are a necessity in college life, and not having access to these products due to distance can be troublesome. Getting a bundle of them for Christmas can be very helpful!

I hope you get some of these items this holiday!
