Dance Moms is a show about children dancing at the Abby Lee Dance Company with a mean dance teacher and some crazy dance moms. It was a show many of us not only watched as a kid but continued to watch as we aged. Anyone who has watched the show can say that there are many iconic quotes we can relate our lives to.

Sunday: “This is going to cost a lot of money in therapy” – Jill.

Sunday was an interesting day. I had to make tough choices that were going to leave emotional wounds for some time. Obviously, in the scene Jill is talking about something else, but I think the humor in the situation and the quote relate exactly to how Sunday went.

Monday: “You’re entitled to have your wrong opinion” – Holly

It’s safe to say we’ve all been to a class where a peer makes some unrelated irrelevant comment. I feel like it is a fair statement to say that this is a universally relatable quote. I will never expect someone to have the same views as me, but sometimes they are just unbelievably wrong.

Tuesday: “I don’t like to lose, but I don’t ever lose anyway.” – Maddie Ziegler

This quote is said so well, but not in the way I would relate it to my day. When I first heard this I thought it sounded so entitled, but honestly if you consider it in the way of playful arguments or fun games I think this is more fitting. For me Tuesday was a day where I was not willing to “lose”, I was fighting for a “win”

Wednesday: “And I do not need Jill to reprimand me about my attendance, I’m a grown woman.” – Holly

On Wednesday it was a fight to go to class, but every time I mentioned skipping someone felt the need to pop in and tell me I shouldn’t. I fully understand the consequences and still feel like if I didn’t need to attend the lecture that is my choice. (I ended up going).

Thursday: “If you yell at me I’m going to cry” – JoJo

Self-explanatory… I am one of those people where if I get angry enough, rather than yelling at you I will cry… and the same thing happens when I get yelled at. Thursdays are frustrating most weeks because it’s the day I head back home and that means from around 8:30 am-5:00 pm I am nonstop going. By around 5:30 pm I’m tired and don’t want to have a conversation, so when I get yelled at – I’m going to cry.

Friday: “I’m not engaging” – Holly

Anyone working in retail has related to this quote in some way. I have a lot of grouchy old customers and some days it’s just easier to nod when they’re talking than it is to try to reason with them at all. Especially when they begin to make any inappropriate comments, it’s just easier to call someone else to be on the register and walk away than it is to try to reason with him at all.

Saturday: “The sky’s the limit—but only if she puts the work in.” – Abby Lee Miller

This has more meaning to me than it should. I think when you cut out the bad things in life sometimes the best things at the moment will come with it. I look at this as when you choose to put the work into yourself, then good things come along with it.
