My Love Letter To Her Campus Lasell

Jessica Shore Student Contributor, Lasell University
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

I can’t believe this is my last article. This is very bittersweet!

I joined Her Campus during my junior year, but it feels longer! I say that I wish I had joined earlier, but deep down, I know that I joined at the perfect time. I was busy with three other clubs on campus, and hadn’t had time to be a part of a fourth. However, something told me to sign up during the activities fair at the beginning of my junior year.

I was nervous going into the first weekly meeting of the semester, but I loved it immediately. There were a handful of girls in that small conference room, and even though I can get overwhelmed easily meeting new people, I wasn’t. I actually felt comfortable participating. As an introvert, this was huge for me. I immediately knew this club would become a safe space for me.

That comfort level only grew as time went on. Members came and went, but I kept coming to meetings, writing articles each week, and eventually became the Marketing Director a couple of months later. I was on the e-board of three other clubs, but I knew I wanted to be involved in this one as well. I wanted to contribute to the community that Her Campus had given me.

At the end of the first semester of my senior year, the then-President asked if I wanted to take over her role because she had become too busy. Something propelled me to say yes, even though I was nervous to take this position. I had a month to prepare. No big deal, right? The club was small enough, but I was nervous. Would I be good enough to run an entire club?

I wish I could tell December 2025, Jess, she WOULD be good at running a club. I recruited two new members, helped put on a sampling campaign event, and organized an arts and crafts bonding meeting. With the help of my Vice President, we posted weekly articles to the website and social media posts to Instagram. One of our reels advertising the sampling campaign ended up getting 900 views!

Not only do I have a resume builder opportunity, but I also have an experience that I’ll never forget. Her Campus Lasell, thank you for the last two years. Thank you for giving me amazing friendships. Thank you for giving me an outlet to write about my interests and passions. I’ll never forget my time here, and I can’t wait to see where the chapter goes from here!
