Christmas is a huge holiday in my family. We love to come together and create many holiday memories. I am so thankful for my family and the memories that we make each year! Here are some of my favorite family holiday traditions!

  1. Christmas Eve Mass

Every Christmas Eve, my family and I go to mass together. It is so amazing to see the church decorated so beautifully! When I was younger, I would sing in the Children’s Christmas Choir, so this tradition brings back so many memories.

  1. Christmas Eve Sing-Along

The best thing about having aunts who are best friends means that you and your best friend get to spend Christmas Eve together every year! We always go to my aunt’s house for a huge Christmas party. Since my aunt was our voice teacher since we were very young, towards the end of the night she starts playing the piano, and my friend Maya and I come out in matching pajamas and sing our favorite carols. We spend a month preparing the songs we will sing and how to get everyone involved in each song, and it is a great time! A big shoutout to both of our families for completing what ends up being the 45 Days of Christmas song with us!

  1. Christmas Day Breakfast

Every year after we wake up, my whole family comes to my house to open presents and have brunch. As an Event Management major, I love to decorate the house for this and enjoy spending time with my family.

  1. Christmas Nap

This is arguably one of the best parts of the day. Between breakfast and dinner, my family goes back to their respective houses and everyone takes a long nap. Since we have been going so crazy and been so busy preparing for a number of days beforehand, it is a great way to unwind before heading to the next festivity.

 5. Christmas Dinner

For Christmas dinner, we head over to my grandma’s house, where our great aunts join us to celebrate. We eat lots of food and apple pie and follow it up with lots of Christmas-themed games, including a Yankee Swap. It is such a fun time filled with joy and laughter.
