Lasell Women’s Soccer Seeks Seventh Straight GNAC Title

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

This season is looking promising for the Lasell women’s occer team. After a strong, steady post season, the team is three games into the regular season and excited and ready to work toward their seventh Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) title. With six GNACs in the past, the Lasers know the meaning of hard work and dedication.

“This season is going to be extremely tough because every team in the GNAC is looking to be the team to take us down. Our goal is to win our seventh straight GNAC championship and to excel in the NCAA tournament past the second round,” said senior Megan Cullen.

So far the Lasers have a record of 1-2-1, with a 2-0 loss to Brandeis, with 1-0 loss to Keene State, a 1-1 tie with Johnson and Wales, and a 2-1 win over Colby Sawyer. They are out practicing every day, working hard toward their goals.

“Being a part of a team that has a history of six GNAC Championship wins comes with a lot of pride and expectations for not only myself, but also for the team as a whole,” said senior Mack Kingman. “Having the chance to be part of the team for the past four years and experiencing three of the past six wins allows myself to have a better understanding of what it means to be part of a successful team. As a senior class we are extremely determined and excited to work toward winning that seventh.”

Head coach Vito LaFrancesca has been with the team in all their championship wins, and we hope to see the team win another this year.
