This Just In: Wine Hair Masks Exist and Exactly What You Need for Your Next Girls Night In

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

I decided to try the Unwined by Hask hair mask while they were on sale because let’s be real, who can’t resist a sale? I tried two of their deep conditioner masks because I’m always looking for a great deep conditioner for my dry hair. Hask is pretty well known for their other hair products such as their keratin hair masks and oils (which are to die for BTW).

The first hair mask I tried was the Pinot Noir. The deep conditioner is full of antioxidants and nutrients to help smooth your hair down. This one has wine extract, resveratrol, grape seed oil, pomegranate extract, and plum extract. It claims to help control frizz while repairing and moisturizing your hair.

My first reaction was that this one smelled amazing. The texture was very thick, but very loose, so be careful not to spill it when opening the package. I was very happy with my hair after using the product. I dried my hair with a cotton t-shirt and put in some coconut oil. I avoid using heat on my hair, so I just left my hair down to dry with a towel over my shoulder. About two hours later, my hair was in big, beautiful, soft curls that looked and felt amazing. The curls had such a gorgeous bounce. I went to bed with my hair in the pineapple, and when I woke up, my hair was not as curly as expected, but was still soft, bouncy and easy to style. My hair did not feel greasy when I woke up, so this was a winner for me. I avoid washing my hair more than two times a week, and I was easily able to style my hair out three days before having to put it into a bun.

The second one I tried about a week later was the Brut Rose. This one has wine extract, resveratrol, grape seed oil, rose extract, watermelon extract and includes color radiance complete. I have colored hair and this hair mask was aimed for people with colored hair, to color protect and deep condition.

I was not as impressed with the scent, but it could be because I am not a big rose person. I followed all the same steps as above with my hair care.  I would say that both of these hair masks are comparable, for someone with wavy/curly, colored and frizzy hair. This one made hair care so easy, just like the last one, I could put up hair up in a bun in a matter of minutes and it helped detangle my hair. Next time you wanna #treatyoself, check out ulta.com for these masks.
