Joe Biden Considers 2020 Run for President

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is thinking about running for president in 2020.

“I haven’t decided to run, but I’ve decided I’m not going to decide not to run… We’ll see what happens,” he said during an interview with Vanity Fair.

Biden was not able to commit to a 2016 run following the death of his oldest son, Beau, in 2015.  In his book titled Promise Me, Dad, Biden talks about how his son was the number one supporter of a potential presidential run. Beau even stated it was his father’s duty to run for office.  Promise Me, Dad is Biden’s seventh book and is expected to be released Nov. 14, 2017.

Why is this news important? The Democratic candidate has very conflicting views with current president, Donald Trump, and feels this could be a necessary move.  Many people blew up over this announcement that he *might* run for President.  Found on Twitter, under #Biden2020, everyone praises him and what he could do for the US.

We’re excited and hopeful to see what the future holds for Joe Biden and our country!
