Jessica Spillane is a freshman at Lasell College majoring in Fashion Communication and Promotion. She loves Say Yes to the Dress, watching makeup tutorials, and binge-watching Netflix.
“My dream job is to be a consultant at Kleinfeld’s,” she says. “Being surrounded by beautiful designer dresses and ecstatic brides-to-be would be a dream come true.”
She is from Waterbury, Conn., but one day she hopes to live in New York.
“I’m not really into traveling,” she says, “but one place I hope to visit New Zealand to see the mountainous ranges and exotic blue waters.” One place on her bucket list that she wants to visit is the Warren Museum, located close to home in Monroe, Conn. The horror-based home of demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren features an iconic haunted Raggedy Anne doll, Anabelle, featured in the movies The Conjuring and Anabelle.
In Spillane’s free time, she enjoys doing makeup; she is an aspiring makeup artist and has an Instagram account for her various makeup looks, @make_upbyjess.
While exploring Boston, her favorite places to go are downtown Boston and Newbury Street, where she enjoys looking at the various high-end brand stores and shopping at places like Primark.
Fashion is what inspires her. She says, “Fashion is important to me and inspires me because it is a way to express yourself. I can be myself and I can feel confident with myself and my clothes. Fashion is a form of art and I love adding new additions to my closet!”
Jessica is a fellow writer for Her Campus and the Boston Polished blog; her work can be found on both websites.
