This week’s campus cutie is James Maloney, a sophomore from Somers, New York. Maloney loves sports and became a Sports Management major. He hopes to one day work for the Manchester City soccer team in England, but would settle for any professional sports team. Currently, he’s interning for the Athletic Director at Lasell and for his uncle at Fenway, although his favorite baseball team is the Red Sox rival, the Yankees. Although he doesn’t play a sport for the school, he does love pick up soccer.
Maloney has more interests than sports, however. One of his biggest passions is music. Any one that knows him knows about his love for Kanye West. He has a shrine above his bed of Kanye records, posters, and other paraphernalia. He and his roommate attended a Kanye concert last fall, which he claims was “One of the best nights of my life”. His other favorite artists include Chance the Rapper, Danny Brown, Childish Gambino, Jay-Z, Vampire Weekend, and Passion Pit. He’s always the designated DJ when he hangs with his friends, he said, “Its on my bucket list to see all of his favorite artists live, and meet Kanye West.” He also included traveling and going to the Manchester Derby on the list.
This resident of Chandler house told me a few of his favorites, including favorite movie, ‘Django Unchained’, favorite food, wings, and celebrity crush, none other than Mila Kunis, but Kendall Jenner is a close second. Maloney plans to study abroad next fall semester in Switzerland.
Any ladies looking for love from this single Jet’s fan can expect the unexpected when going on a date with James, who says that “I will do anything on a date with a person, if its the right person we will be having fun.”
For his ideal outfit, James would “rock something like a button up polo shirt, pair of khakis or jeans that aren’t jean colored (a staple in his wardrobe), and polo loafers.”
James looks for someone who has a good sense of humor and he has things in common with, because he “has strong opinions.” His favorite pickup line is one that he said to his camp counselor when he was in second grade (by the instruction of another counselor), “Do you have a mirror in your pocket? Because I can see me in your pants.”
