The new way to get all things beauty, the Ipsy box makes things easier than ever before to get new products you’ll be sure to love. For just $12 a month, Ipsy handpicks five beauty products for you to sample and try out. But how do they do this, and is this something that’s worth your money? Keep reading to take a look at what the Ipsy box is, what comes in it, and find out why this box is taking the beauty community by storm.
With Ipsy, you always have options. For $12 a month, you get 5 beauty product samples. This means sample sizes of things like lotions, face or hair masks, and any other cream. For items like chapsticks or lip balms, eyeshadows, and highlighters or bronzers, you receive full-sized individuals. However, if you want to get more out of your Ipsy subscription, you can pay $25 a month and receive 5 full-sized beauty products every month. Yet, if that’s still not enough, the other option Ipsy offers is 12 beauty products every month for $50 a month.
When you first start your monthly subscription to Ipsy, the company has you take a survey. In this survey, they ask you a bunch of questions in order to personalize the products and colors or fragrances of the products you’ll be receiving each month. This survey takes no more than 10 minutes max and asks all sorts of demographic and beauty related questions in order to get to know you.
The beauty quiz, as Ipsy calls it, starts off by asking for your skin tone, eye color, and hair color. Then, it asks how comfortable you are with makeup before it really gets into the product options. The products it asks about are mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, brow products, lipstick, liquid lipstick, lip gloss, lip plumper, lip liner, primer, concealer, foundation, tinted moisturizer, powder, blush, highlighter, bronzer, and contour, and brushes and tools. All of these are products you can receive in your monthly box based on the preferences you chose in the survey.
From there, the beauty quiz asks about skincare products, in the same way, it asks about makeup. These products include a cleanser, cleansing oil, moisturizer, sheet masks, face-off face masks, exfoliants, serums, face oils, toners and mists, eye treatments, nail polish, hand cream, body scrubs, body lotions, self-tanner, lip balm, acne treatments, fragrance, hair styling products, and hair treatments. Again, based on the preferences you select, you can get any of these various products in your monthly box.
The final few steps include the survey asking about product shades (for example, do you prefer neutral eyeshadows or bright and bold eyeshadows?) and then getting into the nitty-gritty. The website has you create an Ipsy account in order to see and track your Ipsy glam bag, and then you select your monthly plan.
