First dates can be nerve-wracking. How do you act? What do you wear? Where do you go? These are my tips that hopefully help!

Don’t be nervous. I know, easier said than done. However, they are probably nervous too, so just relax and try to have a fun time.

Call a friend right before a date or while you are getting ready if you are nervous. They can remind you of how amazing of a person you are and all your wonderful traits!

Stay safe. If this is the first time you are meeting someone, because you might have meet them online, make sure you meet in a public place. Let a couple friends know where you are going. I suggest driving yourself, they could just be being nice by offering you a ride, but better safe than sorry!

Dress casual, or whatever you are most comfortable in. If you are comfortable, you will be more confident.

Go somewhere that interests both of you. Find something you have in common, so you both have fun on the date. Do not go to only the movies on the first date. You won’t really have a chance to talk if you are trying to get to know each other.

Don’t talk about exes on the first date, or ever. Your date does not want to be compared to your ex. The past is in the past, focus on the present.

Don’t go with a negative attitude, or else it won’t go well for sure. Just be your happy self even if the date isn’t going well. There are plenty of fish in the sea.

Don’t be anyone, but yourself. You do not want the relationship will start on lies. The relationship will not go anywhere if you are not honest with each other.
