In addition to Her Campus, I’m a part of three other clubs: Lasell Radio (WLAS), Lasell TV (LCTV), and the creative writing club. I’ve been a part of radio since freshman year, TV and creative writing since sophomore year, and Her Campus since junior year.
I’m on the E-Board of all four clubs, which I’ve loved being a part of. Having these experiences has been a major part of my resume and will help me in my future career and other endeavors. However, being a part of four E-Boards adds to my already busy workload and schedule, which can be overwhelming at times. Regardless of my workload, I love having these leadership roles. I want to hold the titles of Booking Director, Showrunner, Treasurer, and Marketing Director until I graduate in May.
Embedding my responsibilities across the four clubs with my classes has been hard at times, but I have a Google spreadsheet with all my due dates for clubs and classes, which has saved me so much time. Having a spreadsheet has allowed me to see when everything is due, and it allows me to plan my days accordingly. With this spreadsheet, I never miss a due date.
Some weeks are more chaotic than others, but balancing school and clubs with personal projects is vital. Something that’s really important for me is to make time for my passions. I love to write and create video edits and posts for the online fanpages I run, and it’s important that I still get to work on my personal projects.
I’ve loved getting involved in clubs on campus, working with others, and developing friendships with people in these clubs and E-Boards. However, it’s important not to drown in the work. Having a balance between school and my passions is what’s kept me afloat during my college experience.
