When thinking about productivity our minds usually think about how efficient we can be when getting a lot of things done. In addition, how we can work smart to be as efficient as possible, leading to a high level of productivity. However, rest is productive.

While you may not think that you should add rest to your long to-do list, you should highly consider it. Resting can increase your productivity by giving your mind a much-needed break.

After resting your mind will still be ready to be productive, as during rest your mind actually just switches it to a different part of your mind.

Here are some popular ways to rest and de-stress

1: Go for a walk: Going for a walk is a great idea for de-stressing. Going for a brisk walk would release endorphins to the brain. These endorphins release a positive feeling for the body. Walking is awesome because it can be done anywhere, at the gym on the treadmill, or really anywhere!

2: Do something creative: This may be doodling or doing a coloring page. Coloring is proven to relax the brain so is a perfect choice to de-stress. However, if you’re not up for coloring there are other ways to be creative! Writing is another medium to be creative through whether it’s writing a brief poem or a short story.

3: Listen to music: Listening to music is always a good way to de de-stress and refocus. Some acoustic covers are an awesome way to rest with a little bit less intensity.

4: Unplug: Get off your phone to help you focus and remove any distractions.

5: Meditate: The headspace app is an awesome app to utilize, and it is free. This app has a variety of options for meditation and allows you to customize what you want to get out of meditation.
