HC Day in a Life: A Real Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Welcome to HC Lasell member’s day in our lives! We are all going to be taking readers through what a day in our life looks like as busy college students. Our event director, Anna, will be sharing what she does in a normal week.

I feel as though I live a pretty busy life. I take five classes, am on the executive board of two clubs, and work three days a week. I also make time for friends and family, and once in a while, a moment to catch my breath and relax. Even though this schedule can be hectic sometimes, it keeps me on track and allows me to be the best that I can be.

As I mentioned, I take five classes this semester. Two are online, and the other three are fully in-person, split up on a Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday rotation. I am an Event Management major and hope to pursue a career in wedding planning after graduation. Due to this, I would have to say that my favorite class this semester is Social Event Management. We are learning about decor, florals, venue selection, and more, and even though it is at eight a.m., it is my favorite class to wake up and go to.

I am part of two clubs on campus, HerCampus, and NACE. I joined HerCampus my freshman year and became Event Director the spring semester. Since then, I have been able to plan much different fun and exciting events for the club, and have had a lot of fun doing so. One of my favorites was our Halloween Treat Delivery, where we delivered candy and snacks to students across campus. It was our most successful fundraiser to date and a great bonding experience for our members. I am very excited to become HC Lasell President next semester and work more with our members to create a great overall experience. I am the secretary for NACE Lasell, which stands for National Association of Catering and Events. We are one of the student chapters for the NACE Boston chapter. NACE is an organization made up of event professionals, and event professional students, where we are able to go to various events put on by members and network with industry professionals. It is a great way to learn more about the industry and get your name out there.

I currently work at David’s Bridal as a Bridal Stylist. Due to my love for weddings, it truly is a perfect job for me. I work with brides, bridesmaids, mothers, flower girls, etc., helping them find the perfect dress for the big day. It has taught me so much about the industry, and I truly enjoy going to work every day.

Since homework is crucial and takes up a large portion of free time, my friends and I like to get a study room on campus and do our work there, so that we can spend time together while getting our work done. A lot of my friends are in my major, so we are able to ask questions about assignments we are confused on, and usually work together on group projects.

Balancing school, work, and friendships can be very hard, but managing your priorities and effectively getting everything done, it should be a breeze!
