Ivy Boutique, located at 303 Auburn Street, Auburndale, Mass. Lasell College is lucky to be located right around the corner from this wonderful boutique. Most Lasell students are unaware of this little shop, which is quite unfortunate considering the cheap prices for popular designer brands. They sell brands like Anthropologie, Free People, and Steve Madden along with smaller brands such as Hello Kitty and Jellycat. With a limited wallet these brands are often out of reach for college students. However, at Ivy Boutique the prices for these upscale brands are perfect for a small budget.
The store was opened three years ago by owner Ming Liu and has a sister store in China. Auburndale was carefully chosen to be a new location for the store.
“I like the town Newton. We had been looking at many towns and we found this one and there are many stores around here. Most importantly, it’s near Lasell College,” Liu said.
Liu has a deep interest in fashion and boutiques. She even has dreams to one day to create her own brand.
“I love it {fashion}. I think every girl loves it. You need it everyday,” Liu said. On her plans of building her own brand, she’s looking it to style after Free People and include a line of jewelry.
Danielle Lavendar, a student at Lasell, is also an employee at Ivy Boutique and thoroughly loves her job.
“I get to rearrange the store and decorate windows, and I work by myself so I feel like I own my own boutique,” Lavendar said describing her work.
From their cheap prices to their beautiful clothing, Ivy Boutique is perfect for any Lasell College student. The boutique also offers many opportunities for Lasell students: as they are currently hiring models. If Ming decides to create her own brand she will be looking towards Lasell College for fashion design students to hire.
