A day In The Life of an Admissions Ambassador

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Today is Wednesday, which is the day that I work in Lasell’s office of undergraduate admissions. With it being a school vacation week this week, I knew I had a busy day ahead of me in the office. I get up around 7:15 am and immediately make a hot coffee and oatmeal in my room, once I am done eating breakfast, I finish getting ready for the day and make sure to wear my most reliable walking shoes.

I walk over to Hamel House for my 8:30 shift and chat with Todd, our administrative assistant, as soon as I enter the building. After this, I head downstairs to fill out our scheduling board with the tour assignments for the day and then help Todd with confirming tours for tomorrow. Before I knew it, I am headed out on my first tour at 10:00 am, luckily it was a beautiful day and the family seemed to enjoy the campus.

After I am done with the tour, I decide to head to the gym with a friend to get a quick workout in before my 12:30 pm class. As soon as I am done at the gym, I head back to my room and quickly heat up leftovers for lunch and eat during my 12:30-1:45 class, Intercultural Communication. During class, we reviewed the requirements for our final presentations, which I am doing mine on how stereotypes are still relevant in the 21st century, and we were let out early.

Since I had some extra time before heading back to the office, I decided to shower and put on a new outfit because it looked like it was going to rain. I then headed back to the office and was immediately sent out on tour. Unfortunately, it did rain on this tour, but I had great conversations with this family and the hour flew by. After I finish writing a thank you card to them, my day at work is finally over.

Now it is 5:00pm and I meet my friends after a busy day to go out for dinner at Chick-fil-a and work on some homework together in the common room. Time flies by and before I know it, it is almost 11:00pm and I head back to my room to have a quick snack and get ready for bed.
