Now that we have finally approached ~spooky season~, the next and most important day is Halloween. We have a few weeks until the big holiday arrives, and I know everyone is trying to find the perfect costume. Whether you’re deciding to be a mouse or bunny like Regina and Karen, or a zombie bride like Cady, here are some trendy DIY costumes for this year:

  • Fairy

This is one of the easiest DIY costumes because there is really no wrong way to make it. You can pair any dress, one like the one above or any other one, with any kind of shoes, and all you need is the fairy wings. They can be found at most party stores, but the real deal is that they can be found at the dollar store for just $1! It is such a steal and such a cute costume!

  • Mario and Luigi

This is a great costume to do with your BFF. If you go to Michael’s, you can get the t-shirts for about $2 and the hats for $3. You can either get a patch to iron onto the hat or just write the letter in Sharpie. If you pair it with black shorts or leggings and any kind of shoe, you have your costume all done!

  • Jelly Beans

This is a very fun group costume. Get some balloons- whatever colors you would like- and blow them up. You will need to fill a clear trash bag with them and cut a hole in it to fit around your head. You can print out the logo online and glue or tape it to the front. You can where whatever you want for clothes because they will not be noticed behind the balloons.

  • Rain Cloud

This is also a fun, new idea. Take an umbrella and cover it in cotton balls. That creates the cloud. Hot glue string and attach paper or felt rain drops to the string, and your costume is done, pair it with whatever outfit you want – just don’t forget your rain boots!

There are many other ideas you can do as well to make a great costume on a low budget. Pinterest is a great source to find DIY costumes and stores such as the dollar store have accessories that are super cheap that can seriously make your costume better! Have a great spooky season everyone!
