Celebrities React to Beyoncé’s Pregnancy Announcement

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

At this point everyone should know that on Feb. 1, Beyoncé shocked the internet with an Instagram post announcing that she is pregnant with not one, but TWO babies.  In a picture of her in lingerie and a green veil holding her naked belly and sitting around a bed of flowers she writes: “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”

No matter how people feel about Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s relationship, a huge congratulation is in order for their blessing.  Twitter blew up with responses and some on the best ones came from celebrities following Queen B.

1.     Best Coast

The American rock duo reacted to not only the pregnancy announcement, but also throwing some shade at recent events. With everything happening all over the world in recent weeks, it’s nice to see a happy change.

2.     Hailey Baldwin

Model Hailey Baldwin took a humorous stance on her reaction to the pregnancy saying that she’s more excited for the twins than she will be for her own child.  Let’s be honest it’s BEYONCÉ so it’s acceptable.

3.     Issa Rae

Actress, writer, director, and producer Issa Rae initiated the conversation of baby names by poking fun of Blue Ivy’s name.  Remember it’s color plus plant/fruit/vegetable.

4.     Gabourey Sidibe

American actress Gabourey Sidibe took note to the start of Black History Month and praised Beyoncé’s announcement as being just the start to a great month.

5.     Ellen DeGeneres

No one does it better than Ellen.  Funny as always, she replaced Beyoncé’s head with her own.  Now it’s time to decide: who’s the real queen Beyoncé or Ellen?
