This week’s Campus Cutie is Kyle Mahoney, a sophomore from Easton, Connecticut. Kyle is a Public Relations major with minors in Business and Fashion Communications.
“I love looking at celebrities and what they do to boost their image,” says Kyle. “Public relations is all about making good moves for a company and trying to make a company/person look good overall.” Kyle believes it’ll be fun to work through the drama that some companies go through. She admits even though she isn’t the most fashionable person, she chose to minor in Fashion Communications because it’s new. “I just added it last semester. I love upcoming trends in fashion and makeup and I love writing about it. So might as well,” she says.
When Kyle is not in class, you can find her hanging out with friends or writing for Her Campus. Aside from being an active member of HC, Kyle is also a member of Hope for Humanity. In Kyle’s free time, you can find her watching Netflix. “I am currently watching How I Met Your Mother,” said Kyle, who is currently on season six out of nine. “I also like to rewatch Friends in my spare time.” She watched the entire series last semester and she still continues to watch it now. “I also love to nap, and I like to go to the gym, hang out with my friends and eat food!”
Kyle’s favorite movies consist of Hairspray, Crazy Stupid Love, Silver Linings Playbook, Joy, and Easy A. “I love anything really with Jennifer Lawrence or Emma Stone,” says Kyle, of her favorite actresses. Every girl has a celebrity crush, Kyle’s happens to be Nicki Minaj! Kyle loves Nicki Minaj so much that you can find a giant poster of Nicki in her dorm. A few of her other favorite celebrities are John Legend, and his wife Chrissy Teigan, as well as Khloe Kardashian. Kyle’s favorite songs at the moment are “Roses” by the Chainsmokers, “Kiss the Sky” by the Knockers, “Work” by Rihanna, and “Omen” by Disclosure (featuring Sam Smith). “I love anything Sam Smith has recorded.” Kyle also loves the song “It Means A Lot to You” by A Day To Remember. “That song is just so timeless to me, I will never not listen to it.”
In addition, some of Kyle’s other favorite things are chicken parm, chocolate chip cookies, pizza, dogs, and makeup. “I love dogs. I love playing with dogs and the happiness they bring to others.” She feels like dogs are so cute and would never harm anyone. Kyle also has an extreme passion for makeup. Kyle runs a makeup blog (kylelovesbeauty.tumblr.com) that she someday hopes to move to another website. Kyle admits that her blog is fairly new, but, “I am still trying to work things out,” she says.
