The Best Ways to Celebrate the Holidays at School Before You Leave for Winter Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  We LOVE the holidays here at HC Lasell.  Going home for the holidays just got a bit sweeter with our holiday-themed articles this week perfect to get even the Grinch into the holiday spirit.  Grab your hot cocoa and dive in!

For college students, the month of December is a whirlwind. We have so many finals, presentations, term papers, as well as the stress of packing up all of your stuff to go home for break. In this month of stress, we can sometimes forget about why we are in crunch time: winter break. This is the time for us to relax, unwind, and celebrate the holidays with the people we love. Of course, you will want to do some holiday-themed activities with your friend before you leave for break, to share the holiday spirit with them as well. Here are some fun winter holiday activities you can do:

1. Ice Skating

Especially if your school is near a city, there are many local ice rinks where you and your friends can go for a skate. Don’t forget to pick up some hot chocolate after to warm you up!

2. Secret Santa

With your friends or even with school clubs, host a Secret Santa event. Set the price limit to about $15, and surprise someone with a thoughtful gift!

3. Bake Christmas Cookies

Most dorms have ovens, so pick up some ingredients and bake some cookies with your friends. Get some toppings as well to decorate!

4. Play Christmas Music

Spend the month of December playing Christmas music from a speaker in your dorm. It is a great way for you and your roommates to get into the holiday spirit.

5. Go Christmas Shopping

The mall is always decorated for the holiday spirit. Go with your friends or roommates to get the gifts you need for this holiday. You could even take a picture with Santa!

Have a great holiday and get in the holiday spirit all December long!
