5 Halloween Costumes You Can Make out of Things You Already Have in Your Closet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Halloween is rapidly approaching as we near the end of October. If you are anything like me, you are last minute trying to pull a costume together. The month has slipped away and you don’t want to be stuck with anything, but don’t have the time to go to the store or make an elaborate costume. If this sounds like you, keep reading for some Halloween costumes you can make out of what you already own.

  1. A Disney Princess

Disney bounding is already a popular hobby and to recreate a look of a Disney princess there are tons of outfit ideas available on Pinterest. You can take normal clothes you already have, in the colors of their signature outfits and dresses, and you are pretty much all set. If you want to go “the extra mile”, add a prop of some sort or a tiara to showcase the princess that you are.

  1. A Mummy

This one is fairly simple to recreate, take any kind of miniskirt, tube top, or tank top you have in your wardrobe and then either wrap toilet paper or gauze around your outfit. To complete the look add some dark makeup and stains on the gauze or toilet paper.

  1. Biker Chicks

For this costume, you only need a few items and you are all set to party it up with your friends this Halloween. Grab that bandana you have lying around, add it over your hair, and pair it with some black jeans or faux leather pants, or leggings. To complete the look add a black vintage-looking top with a leather jacket pair on top. You can even add some sunglasses to elevate the look1

  1. Boxers

This was a costume I did last year with my friends that were very simple. All it requires is some Nike pros or spandex shorts/leggings, a sports bra, and a silky robe. You can always get boxing gloves to go with the costume, but I left that part out and I think you will still get the idea. Feel free to add some eyeblack too if you are up to it!

  1. Skiers

For this costume, grab some leggings or pants of your choice, a sports bra or any kind of crop top, a beanie, and some ski goggles. If you are going to be out and about in a cold place definitely add some sort of winter jacket to complete the look!

Happy Halloween!
