Ever taken a look at yourself in the mirror and wondered: ‘Hmmm. Which song by the timeless and always relevant Super-Rock group Fleetwood Mac am I most like based on my astrological zodiac sign?’ Well, look no further! This article will give you all the answers you seek. Sit back, buckle up and find out which song of their amazing repertoire you are most like based on your star sign – and then go and give their entire discography a listen, because I can assure you, it is well worth your time.

ARIES – EVERYWHERE

First up, we have Aries. Don’t you just find that you can’t go anywhere in your life without bumping into one of these tricksy little minxes?! With that in mind, it must go without saying that the Fleetwood Mac song that correlates most aptly to this sign is Christine McVie’s playful and melodious banger: Everywhere. Aries individuals are fun, they’re outgoing, and they never fail to lift one’s mood. They truly are the dancing Shetland Pony we all need in our lives.

TAURUS – SEVEN WONDERS

Seven Wonders simply and wonderfully oozes Taurus vibes. This song is upbeat and chirpy at its outset, but also veils an oft disclosed secret vulnerability and heartfelt care behind such a mask. The sense of curiosity and desire of adventure pushes the Taurus agenda, and this Stevie Nicks classic has all the trademarks of a Taurus dance anthem.

GEMINI – LITTLE LIES

For the plucky Gemini in your life, we have another 1987 pop anthem from McVie: Little Lies. This song represents the need within a Gemini to understand that there is always two sides to every story, and not everything you hear and/or read is always quite what it seems upon first impression. Gemini’s are also liars so *insert peace emoji*.

CANCER – LANDSLIDE

Such a beautiful, emotive and heartfelt ballad detailing the lovelorn effects the passage of time has wrought on what was once an innocent and excitable soul. Landslide is, ostensibly, the most emotionally challenging song of Fleetwood Mac’s repertoire, and Nicks’ pining vocals on this 1975 lamentation finds itself so exceptionally in tune with the Cancer’s own strained relationship with their emotional sensibilities that any other song could not do them justice.

LEO – GO YOUR OWN WAY

Leos know what they want, but also know when they’re being played. If it so happens that loving someone ‘isn’t the right thing to do’, they have no issue telling whomsoever to effectively do one. Go Your Own Way is the ultimate bad-ass finger to your ex song, and Lindsey Buckingham’s acerbic middle finger to Nicks in the form of this fiery ballad at the implosion of their relationship is quite rightly representative of the Leo’s passions and temper if things don’t always go their own way.

VIRGO – STORMS

The Virgo is entirely summed up in this lesser-known gem among Fleetwood Mac’s catalogue. On the surface the Virgo will remain calm, composed and collected, yet beyond the façade that is their public persona you may often find quite the storm raging within. Nicks’ 1979 composition Storms so effortlessly encapsulates the aura of the Virgo that one finds the temptation to assert that, far from being that ‘blue calm sea’ they may appear to be on the surface, deep down they have ‘always been a storm’.

LIBRA – GYPSY

The grounded, loyal and always effervescent Libra finds its Fleetwood Mac musical analogue with 1982’s monolith Gypsy. This jaunty, jovial love song finds its origin in Nicks’ desire to return to a period of simplicity and serenity: back to a time before the height and excess of fame wherein she and Buckingham lived in a small apartment with nothing but a mattress on the floor for their sleeping quarters. This need to break free of the excesses of life resonates closely with the Libra outlook and as such, they house the Gypsy energy we all aspire to ascertain.

SCORPIO – SILVER SPRINGS

Silver Springs. What can be said about this delightful – criminally overlooked – epic that was ruthlessly cut from Rumours by Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood back in 1977. Arguably one of the greatest songs Nicks has ever written, this deeply personal telling of the tumultuous atmosphere that surrounded the entire band during the making of that infamous best-selling album is a musical chronotope of all that embodies the Scorpio. At times rough and jaded, yet balanced in equal measure with moving harmonies and symphonic silences, Silver Springs is the emotional tour-de-force that can only be experienced by being involved (romantically or otherwise) with a Scorpio. Beware their sting, for you will ‘never get away from the sound of the [Scorpio] that loves you’.

SAGITTARIUS – DREAMS

A Sagittarius is the personification of Dreams as a mantra: they take events which may have caused difficulties, upset and emotional strain and turn them into action. They recollect their thoughts, iron themselves out, and move on with their lives. No sense in dwelling over things that have come to a natural conclusion. So too does Nicks with her pragmatic sister-song of Buckingham’s spite-fuelled Go Your Own Way. Here we find a controlled version of events, free from emotional baggage and released of any personal vendetta others may feel inclined towards harbouring.

CAPRICORN – THE CHAIN

As the only song credited to the ‘Rumours Five’, The Chain exemplifies a Capricorn’s entity so wholly you would be positively mad to resist it! The Capricorn is grounded, set in their ways and self-assured. No better song can be found among Fleetwood Mac’s discography than the masterpiece that is The Chain. *That* bass line. That guitar solo. Those harmonies. The Chain positively screams Capricorn in its reliance on simplistic chords, grounded rhythm, and a solid, dependable percussion section. Just like the Capricorn, this ditty is the quintessential ‘back to basics’ track that everyone needs from time to time.

AQUARIUS – RHIANNON

‘Takes to the sky like a bird in flight’ sings Nicks in her 1975 super-hit Rhiannon. The single responsible for launching Fleetwood Mac to world-wide super fame, this powerful saga set-to-music is shrouded in Big Aquarius Energy (BAE). Bringing to its forefront memories of an ‘old Welsh witch’ – as Nicks herself used to introduce the banger – Rhiannon is one of the strongest vocal exaltations of independence, freedom and creativity. All of such factors culminate in the idealised Aquarius. No one can dare to try and challenge an Aquarius or offer them their guidance, for they alone ‘rule their lives like the fine sky lark’, espousing that elemental air factor which remains integral to the Aquarius type.

PISCES – SARA

Pisces are one of the most reserved, caring and sensitive of all the star signs, so it is no wonder that the natural conclusion to this chart finds us landing on their comparative Fleetwood Mac song being the deeply sensitive and touching ballad Sara. Written – at least in part – as a poem for the child Nicks never had, Sara recounts in awe-inspiring detail the subtleties and sensualities that surround love in all its forms; be that familial, platonic, but also sexual and romantic. This song, perhaps more so than any other of her immense discography, exposes Nicks’ natural vulnerabilities and sentimentalities, all of which can be seen among the ever-loving and good natured (if at time’s a little too trusting) Pisces. Truly the most poetic song for the most poetic sign.
