Top 3 Restaurants To Wine And Dine This Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lancaster chapter.

1.Bella Italia

Atmosphere – 4/5

Food – 4/5

Bella Italia is a wise choice for couples looking for a sophisticated and romantic evening this Valentine’s Day. Situated in the centre of the high street in town, Bella Italia offers a warm and cosy retreat from the chilly winter weather. The restaurant goes all out on the night with Valentine’s Day themed decorations and a mouth-watering couple’s set menu of tasty, authentic Italian food. Booking is also available online!

2. 1725

Atmosphere: 5/5

Food: 3/5

If Italian isn’t really your thing, or you just fancy a change from the monotony of Sainsbury’s basic pizzas and cheap student pasta dishes, then why not spice things up a bit?! 1725 is a quirky little Spanish restaurant which serves a tantalizing array of hearty Spanish tapas dishes. The restaurant is tucked away next to Vue Cinema, a handy location if you are planning to watch a film, i.e Fifty Shades of Gray afterwards. The restaurant is bigger than you would initially think but the low lighting and unique décor creates an inviting atmosphere that is sultry and romantic. What’s more, there is an interesting range of seating; pick from a traditional table for two, or an intimate and secluded sofa and table nestled in the corner.

3. The Golden Dragon

Atmosphere: 5/5

Food: 5/5

The Golden Dragon tends to be the gem that students forget about. Situated opposite the police station, The Golden Dragon is a modest looking Chinese restaurant – but don’t let the darkened windows deter you from going in. The restaurant is spacious, while the tasteful decorations and relaxing music give the restaurant an authentic Asian feel. The staff are incredibly friendly and consistent. On Valentine’s Day, the restaurant makes a special effort to ensure the guests have a lovely evening – every woman receives a complimentary bottle of wine with the meal. Combined with romantic, candle lit tables and a delicious range of sizzling set menus for two to choose from, The Golden Dragon is a difficult one to beat!
