So Florian, how do you feel about being this week’s Campus Cutie?
I’m flattered to be asked.
What is your favourite thing about University so far?
The diversity of people.
Are you a member of any societies?
Yeah, quite a few. I do Aikido and Wing Chun. I’m a member of the Film Production Society, the German Society and the Psychology Society as well.
What else do you like to get up to in your spare time?
I enjoy socializing but I also run and play the guitar.
Do you have any nicknames?
Yeah I do, the most common ones are probably Flowers, Pietzi and Flow.
How would your friends describe you in three words?
Quirky, fun, genuine.
Tell us something interesting about you?
Before I came to Lancaster, I lived in Shanghai for six years and before that I lived in Germany. It has been such a valuable experience to get to know different cultures.

What do you look for in a girl?
Humour and self-confidence.
What is your favourite chat up line?
The one that always comes to my mind is ‘Do you believe in love at first sight or should I come in again?’ but what I like even better is ‘I’ve lost my phone number. Can I borrow yours?’, although, I don’t think either of those would work!
Any celebrity crushes?
(Florian replies without hesitation) Emma Watson.
Biggest turn off?
I’d probably say it’s arrogance.
What do you think your best feature is?
My relaxed attitude under pressure.
What is your idea of the perfect date?
It should be spontaneous, exciting and fun.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation because then I could visit my friends who are spread across the different places I’ve lived in the world.

Fatigue… but not always, especially if I’ve had an energy drink.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
Here, because for a long time I have wanted to study Psychology in England.
