5 Ways To Enjoy Valentine’s Day When You’re Single AF

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lancaster chapter.

We all know Valentine’s Day can be a tough one when you’re a singleton. So here’s a few tips on getting through the day without wanting to tackle every loved up couple you see.

1. Be Your Own Valentine:

Treat yo’self! Get that ridiculously expensive bag, have a spa day, make yourself a G&T with all the works! You deserve it, after all, who knows you better than you? Finding happiness in your own company can be liberating, so give a little self-love!

2. Celebrate Galentines Day Instead:

Nothing beats a night in with your nearest and dearest. So grab a take-away, get the Ben & Jerry’s out and put your feet up. A night spent with your friends is bound to be better than any overpriced, busy restaurant.

3. Give Some Love To Your Fam:

As a day of love, Valentine’s has no boundaries. Show your family you love them! A card goes a long way in letting someone know you’re thinking about them, especially if you’re away from home.

4. Work on yourself:

Take an exercise class, do that essay you’ve been meaning to do or take a walk. Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to spend time on yourself and get ahead whilst everyone else is panicking over how much money they’ve spent on one day of the year.

5. Go For A Night Out:

A night out with your friends is the perfect remedy for any V-day blues. Hit the town, choose your beverage and shake what your mamma gave you. Show everyone what they’re missing!

Even as a single pringle you can still spread the love this Valentine’s, whether it be to friends, family or yourself. Whatever happens, don’t let anyone tell you being single can’t be fun.
