Rook Coffee: The Best the Jersey Shore Has to Offer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lafayette chapter.

Everyone has their favorite coffee place: some prefer classic chains like Dunkin or Starbucks, and others prefer their local cafe. While the topic of what place serves the best coffee is always heavily debated, there is one place, at least on the coast of New Jersey, that everyone agrees is superior.

Rook Coffee. You may have seen someone sporting a hoodie or mug with a simple bird logo around campus and wondered about where it came from. That would be Rook, the once little coffee shack that now has expanded to 11 locations along the Jersey coast.

Created by two best friends, Rook offers quality and happiness with every sip, and they never fail to deliver. Their hot coffees are always delicious, with different bean options, each that offer a different flavor profile.

Their cold brew also comes in different flavors and is arguably the greatest creation on planet Earth. The traditional blend is perfect for those who like their coffee black and cannot stand when people add too many syrups and creamers because it “ruins the coffee taste.” New Orleans style is a classic and fan favorite with a very bold but sweeter coffee taste. My all-time favorite and go-to is Mocha. However, my current favorite is their limited-release Toffee which is the perfect combination of vanilla, chocolate, and caramel notes.

Are you jealous yet? No need to make a trip down to Jersey. Rook allows its die-hard fans (or first-timers) to enjoy Rook wherever they are in the United States. Cold-brew concentrate bottles and beans can ship to your door (or mailroom) in just a few days. So, if you are a New Jersey native needing a piece of home, wanting to try a new coffee place, or searching for a gift for your coffee-loving friend, Rook is the place for you.
