Hi!
My name is Joey Matsuzawa and I am a third-year Communications major with an emphasis in Public Relations. I was born in Seattle, Washington and have lived there my entire life. I live with my mom, my dad, and my older sister.
When I was preparing for college, I decided that I wanted to attend a college in California — which lead me to La Verne. In high school, I was sports editor as well as photo editor of my high school’s monthly publication. As it happens, I first visited La Verne when the paper’s staff competed at a journalism convention in Los Angeles (I received an honorable mention in sports writing and our publication placed 2nd overall). Currently, I am a staff writer for the Campus Times.
I love living in California, and the last few years that I’ve spent here have been some of the best of my life. Cali has some of the best things to offer: beaches, sun, and Disneyland!
