How to get over your post-Halloween depression

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at La Verne chapter.

Now that Halloween is over, you may be feeling that post-Halloween depression. Look no further! Here are some ways you can recover from that as you prepare for the fall season this November.

1. Buy Halloween candy!

If you’re like me, you probably didn’t get as much candy as you expected because you’re old and people don’t like giving candy to anyone older than 13. BUT you can definitely cheat the system and just buy a whole bag of Halloween candy for yourself! All the stores are giving discounts on Halloween candy, so take advantage of it! BEWARE: the sugar consumption and the cavity count may rise!

2. Watch Halloween movies and have a marathon

Grab a blanket and a friend, and snack on that Halloween candy while watching some of your favorite movies. From the classic Michael Meyers scary movies to the light-hearted Halloweentown, you have a wide range of movies to choose from!

3. Light up fall scented candles

Cinnamon & pumpkin are some basic scents to start you off with that warm, cuddly fall feeling. It’s a great way to relax and really get into the season.

The seasonal flavors are here! Coffee shops and bakeries are cranking out those pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon flavored products to celebrate the fall season. Satisfy your palette with the flavors of fall!

5. Make a list of things to be grateful for

It is the month of Thanksgiving, so why not show your gratitude every day? It’s a great way to count your blessings and put things into perspective on the days you’re feeling as gloomy as the weather.

Because we live in California, summer never really ends until November. As the temperature begins to drop and the wind picks up, we can now truly celebrate the beauty of fall.
