Music has a powerful effect on people. Rock can help you cope with your angriest frustrations in life. Pop can help get your body going. Classics can lull you to serenity after a stressful day. And Musical Showtunes can bring out your inner freak! Music is so powerful it can have an even deeper effect in books. Music can set the mood for the stories and characters in their journeys. I have compiled the top ten songs for each YA book that best relates to the stories’ plot, conflict, theme, and its characters.

When you listen to music while you read, it makes you feel like you’re a part of their fictional worlds more. It also helps you to connect a character’s inner thoughts and feelings. It’s the same feeling when you watch a movie or television show with epic music playing in the background. Music and Books are a match made in sound and paper!
