I often find myself indulging in a gem that happens to be located in my city. The Pagoda to me is a place I go to in order to relax and spend some time with family after we had all finished with our busy lives. This attraction is known to be a symbol of Reading since it is seen on the “Welcome to Reading” sign. The Pagoda is also well known by many people who live nearby due to the visibility of the tall structure when driving on the freeway.

Its Japanese-inspired structure attracts many people that come from all areas to take pictures there. The Pagoda usually ends up as the perfect background for many of these photos. Its beauty makes visitors capture their moments there through photos which helps attract more visitors once they share their location on social media. Signs or logos from different places within Reading can sometimes have the Pagoda’s design on them. The Pagoda influences people in different ways. I am certain its beautiful view is what makes the Pagoda an ideal place to visit and bring family or friends to.

The Pagoda seems to watch over the city as it stands upon a hill. From the bottom of the hill, the vibrant red looks like it creates a shadow over the whole city. The structure functions as the heart of the city, gaining new visitors each day and filling the area with life. It stands proudly as its powerful light claims Reading as its home. Each day the light seems to lure many people to its location in order to share with them the beauty it holds. In the morning the clear day offers a picture-perfect view of the Pagoda standing tall on the edge looking like a rustic building. At night the Pagoda lights up the city and serves as a sign that the city is still active even when the moon rises. This simple structure reminds me of my home away from Kutztown.
