This year has been flying by as fast as the speed of light. It’s like I blink and a whole week has gone by. Everyone that I mention it to agrees that this year seems to be passing by much quicker than years prior. I guess it’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely makes the semester seem more stressful. All of my school work seems to be due on the same day of the same week, and since time is rushing by, I always feel like I’m rushing to get things done by their due date. When I think about the fact that it’s already mid-November, I realize I just really don’t know how we got here so fast. I want my last year of college to slow down so that I have more time to enjoy with my friends, and it’s sad that it’ll be over before you know it. There is one good thing about all of this, though. It’s already Thanksgiving.
I’m sure I don’t even need to explain why Thanksgiving is so great because everyone who celebrates it definitely knows. Besides the fact that I can eat so much good food, I love having all of my family come together and spend time with one another. I’m sure this all sounds so corny, but sometimes you just have to be. Thanksgiving is fun for me in so many ways. I love getting up, picking out a cute outfit, and putting myself together for the day. I get to see some family that I rarely see, so I want to look cute, obviously! There is something so satisfying about sitting around with family, eating comforting food. Thanksgiving creates a whole new atmosphere to me. Maybe I’m being dramatic, but the whole day just feels warm and cozy, no matter how cold it is outside.
I probably love this holiday so much just because I do have so many things to be thankful for. It starts with family, then friends, and I could keep going, but this already might sound so cliché. After being out all day, because we celebrate at my grandparents, it feels amazing to go home. I’m usually stuffed and super tired, as soon as I get home I always run up to my room and get on my pajamas. Overall, it’s just always a good day. Oh, and then you get to go shopping on black friday, so it’s even better!!!
