This semester has been a tough one for a lot of people, so what better way to unwind during the break than watching some mind-numbing TV? In order to help you out, I have compiled a must-see list of shows that I personally think you need to binge watch. This is, by no means, a complete list. I am merely attempting to help you start off your break with some awesome-ass shows. So, sit back, relax, and hop into some sweats as you prepare to spend the next few weeks on your couch.

1). The Office

If you have never seen this show, please acquaint yourself immediately. Not only is it one of the greatest shows to ever grace television, but it also serves as the best background noise for homework, sleeping, and intimate moments with the babe. Sure, you’re bound to stop doing your work to watch Dwight set fire to Dunder Mifflin, but some of my best work was done with The Office playing softly in the background.  My roommate even considers the theme song to be a lullaby of sorts (she watches it EVERY night before bed). So if dry humor, outrageous co-workers and paper sales are your thing, this show is for you.

#2. Stranger Things

This little number was a huge hit this year but somehow there are still people who haven’t seen it or refuse to give it a go. Honestly, Stranger Things is the 80’s childhood I wish I had. Other than Winona Ryder’s, understandable but still annoying, screeching for her lost son, it’s a fantastic show. There’s a love story, a scary-ass monster, and a motley crue of nerdy kids with a love for Dungeons and Dragons.  It is only one short season long so there is no excuse to not give it a try!

#3. Scandal

I have to admit; I haven’t actually watched it yet but I have sat with my roommate as she  watched it and I was intrigued enough to ask her what was happening through the entire episode. From what I have seen and all of the explanations my roommate so nicely gave, I can say with confidence that it is a really good show and the ratings back it up. That, and who doesn’t love the beautiful and talented Kerry Washington? Even if politic-related shows aren’t your thing, I guarantee Scandal makes it interesting.

#4. Black Mirror

This show is definitely a little out there, but it will definitely make you think about where our technology-based future is heading. Every episode is different; different actors, plots and style make each episode immensely different from the next. It’s a modern day, British Twilight Zone and definitely deserves a look. To be quite honest, some episodes are a miss but the good ones are very intriguing and will get you thinking.

#5. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

If you haven’t seen this show, you should. I haven’t finished it, but boy is it mind-numbing. It’s perfect for not wanting to think about the daily stresses of life because the characters are idiots who run a failing bar in Philly. Not only are you sure to pick up some great one liners and understand your boyfriend’s references, but you’ll get a laugh out of every episode. It’s also great because It’s Always Sunny also stars Charlie Day who is just a hilarious actor in general so if nothing else appeals to you, watch it for him.

#6. Broad City

This is probably one of my favorite shows of all time. I am completely aware that it isn’t for everyone, but if you love shows with really weird, but somehow still relatable, women this one is for you. Ilana and Abby (the show’s leading ladies) were discovered on YouTube by Amy Pholer who now produces their show on Comedy Central. These two “Jewesses” are absolutely hilarious and their shenanigans are nothing short of fantastic. I probably quote this show at least once every day.  My boyfriend even watched it just to understand the references and even HE quotes it occasionally (I’m so proud.)
