With just about three weeks of classes and one week of finals left, the end of the year is fast approaching. There is so much to do. So many emotions. So much stress. Just so much.  Here are some thoughts and feelings we are all experiencing to make us feel a little less lost and lonely.

Those end of the semester projects are finally upon us

I never thought they would actually have to be done. They never seemed real–just words printed on the syllabus. I curse myself for not starting them earlier as I hunched over my laptop at 3 a.m.

Business Clothes

I have had to wear business casual clothing more times in the last two weeks than I have my entire school career. I am sick of shoving my feet into uncomfortable shoes. The next 45+ years until retirement are going to be detrimental to my toes.

The warm weather is dangerous

The sun is the most addicting substance on this Earth. As soon as it is out, every thought is filled with spending as much time as possible soaking up the sun. Every responsibility is left in our rooms as we hit the streets and eat every Rita’s Italian Ice we can get our hands on. The cure to our seasonal depression is finally here, and we are ready.

You have to go out every night to make up for all those times you stayed in watching Netflix

Continually saying “I’ll go out next weekend” while clicking next episode finally caught up with us. Those memories won’t make themselves. It is time to make our way back into those gross frat house basements, and it’s time to make up with those friends you ditched a couple times to sleep instead.

It’s time to say goodbye to all those graduating

Everything has been leading up to this moment. The day is finally here where the end of your schooling career is within a finger’s reach. The time left is counted by days, not semesters. It’s all scary and real in the best way possible. But remember, those loan repayments are going to start kicking in really quick.

But it is only the end of my sophomore year. Two more years! Let’s go!

(I am extremely jealous of all those who get to begin their amazing careers. You got this.)
