Coachella is quite possibly the most talked-about, over-hyped music festival of the season every year.  When the lineup was released for the 2018 Coachella performers, everyone went wild.  With musicians like The Weeknd, Beyonce, and Tyler the Creator headlining the first weekend, everyone knew they were in for a good Coachella season.

But, an unlikely performer has joined the ranks of such esteemed musicians in the lineup for the biggest music festival in America: The Walmart Yodeling Boy.

Yodeling Boy, whose real name is Mason Ramsey, was invited to perform alongside electronic dance artist Whethan on Friday, according to the Los Angeles Times.  Mason was also allegedly invited to perform with Post Malone.

Throughout the day, Mason met many of the celebrities performing as well as those just in the audience enjoying the festival.  Possibly the most notable encounter of the day was between Mason and Justin Bieber.  Videos of Bieber talking to Mason and congratulating him on his performance went viral and warmed the hearts of every viewer.  The video ends with Mason asking Bieber for a selfie, which Bieber proudly obliged to.

Needless to say, 2018 is a crazy time to be alive.  An 11-year-old country boy yodeling in the middle of a Walmart has gained nationwide popularity within the span of two weeks.  Fans and “memers” have created remixes of his breakthrough performance, and countless people have recreated the iconic meme in their own local Walmart stores. Now he’s performing on stage at one of the largest music festivals in the world, crowds in the thousands cheering his name, drowning out his own vocals with their enthusiastic applause.  If that isn’t the most inspiring thing to happen out of 2018, I don’t know what is.

Follow your memes, kids.
