Spider-Man is officially back in the MCU after Sony and Marvel Studios battled out a contract for the upcoming films, and I couldn’t be happier. I am unashamed to admit that Tom Holland is my favorite Spider-Man so hearing this was the best thing that could’ve happened. I’ve been a Spider-Man stan my whole life, so it is my duty to do what no one has asked of me: I’m going to rank the Spider-Man films from best to worst.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

Directed by Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman, and Bob Persichetti

Miles Morales is bitten by a radioactive spider that gives him similar powers to the New York hero Spider-Man. Soon, he meets Peter Parker, but it isn’t the same Peter Parker he grew up knowing. The villain Kingpin has pulled Spider-Mans from different dimensions, and now it’s up to Miles to get them back home.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

Directed by Jon Watts

Set after the epic events of Avengers: Endgame, we find Peter Parker back from being dusted and about to travel to Europe with his academic decathlon team. However, his harmless vacation is soon disrupted when Nick Fury and Mysterio recruit him to help fight The Elementals.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Directed by Jon Watts

Shortly after Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker tries to adjust back into his regular routine before being sought out by Tony Stark for Avengers business. However, Peter discovers that isn’t so easy finding the balance between heroism and high school.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Directed by Sam Raimi

Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker battles Doctor Octopus while trying to win back his true life and repair his friendship with Harry Osborn. Along the way he’s faced with heartbreak, disappointment, and a loss of identity.

Spider-Man (2002)

Directed by Sam Raimi

The kick-off of the Spider-Man movie argument starts with Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man in which Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider and must adjust to becoming a superhero while also battling the Green Goblin.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Directed by Marc Webb

In the first reboot of the Spider-Man series, we similarly find Peter Parker after being bitten by a radioactive spider and trying to find who he is as a hero. In his search for identity he also romances his classmate Gwen Stacy and tries to defeat the Lizard.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

Directed by Marc Webb

In this sequel with Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, Peter Parker graduates high school and has to figure out his future with his alter ego and love interest, Gwen Stacy. However, after being on the hunt for his family’s past secrets, he has to face loss and overcome some of his greatest fears.

Spider-Man 3 (2007)

Directed by Sam Raimi

In the conclusion to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, Peter Parker has to fight against the Sandman, his uncle’s killer; Venom, his rival at The Daily Bugle; and New Goblin, his best friend.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but as a society we need to come together and acknowledge Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as the superior Spider-Man movie.
