How to Celebrate Galentine’s Day During COVID-19

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kutztown chapter.

February 13th is a day that you spend with your girl friends as you celebrate your friendships. However, due to the pandemic Galentine’s Day won’t be the same this year. Even if you can’t gather with all your Galentines, there are ways you can spend this day with them. Through social distancing and the power of the internet, you don’t have to be alone this Galentine’s Day. Below are five ways to enjoy this day with your Galentines.

Movie Night

Enjoy a movie night with your girls through Teleparty, a browser extension that allows you to synchronize videos from Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu, and HBO. If you don’t want to use just a chat to communicate with your friends, you can use Vemos, a google chrome extension that allows you to video call with your friends as you watch a video

Photoshoot

Gather your Galentine and hype them up with a photoshoot. You can spend the day styling each other and making memories through the photos you take (all while social distancing).

Game Night

Hold a virtual game night through apps such as HouseParty or Discord. HouseParty allows up to eight people to join the video call and provides different game options. Through Discord, you can connect with friends and have them join your game.

Paint Night

A painting night will not only allow you and your Galentine to spend time together, but it will also help you relax. The great thing about this is that you can schedule a time to video call and paint the night away.

Spa Day

Make a pit stop at the nearest store where you can stock up on face masks or DIY your own face masks. Once you have the necessary products, prepare spa day kits for your Galentines and schedule a time to video chat. This activity allows you to pamper yourself with your Galentines.
