During this self-isolation a lot of us are finding time to finally watch that show that everyone kept recommending, as well as the show’s we always click on, but move on from, guiltily knowing we should catch up on others. Eventually you’re going to run out of options if you do that. When you find yourself in that situation, it may be time to turn back to weekly programming, such as FX’s Dave.“Dave” is a must see for fans of comedic rapper Lil’ Dicky, as well as fans of popular awkward “cringe” comedies like The Office, New Girl, or Unbreakable Kimmy Shmidt. Currently airing weekly on FX and Hulu, Dave explores Lil’ Dicky’s fictionalized life as himself, David Burd, trying his best to become a successful rapper. The handful of characters that make up his friend group are his girlfriend Ally, sound engineer and childhood best friend Elz, roommate and best friend Mike, and new friend Gata (pronounced as the informal last half of the word alligator). Within Dave’s adventures he even finds himself in the company of several real life rappers like YG, Young Thug, Macklemore, and Trippie Redd. The show aims to mimic the self-deprecating, semi-parodic verse style of Lil’ Dicky’s music with success, as viewers are left cringing for Dave one moment and laughing out loud the next. Even if you aren’t familiar with Lil’ Dicky and his music, if you love watching other people make stupid mistakes in uncomfortable situations for laughs, you’re sure to enjoy the hilarity of Dave.

"What are you going to do with an Art History degree?" A great many things, just wait and see.
