Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I absolutely love eating the delicious meal, and getting that excited feeling in the pit of my stomach that Christmas is coming. Honestly, it just always makes me feel very warm inside.  I really love my family that I have; I enjoy spending the day together, even though they can be a little crazy.

I can set the scene of us all gathered around a table eating and sharing memories of past holidays and talking about what we are thankful for. Every year as I look around that table I can’t help but think that as crazy as these people are, I am so thankful that this is my little family I have. In spite of the issues we have, we all truly care about one another and have a great time with each other.

I am lucky enough to have been included in my boyfriend’s family’s holiday festivities too and I am grateful that I am included. He has a split family from divorce, so it a little different than how my family occasions are, however I am just very happy to be welcomed into his family just as he is with mine.

Every year as cheesy as it may be, it makes me really excited to maybe one day host Thanksgiving in my very own house.  I’ll be married and maybe I’ll have a couple dogs, and maybe even a couple of kids, and I will feel that warm feeling I always felt, but this time the people around me will feel it to in my very own place- the own little path I have gone with my own family. We will continue to create a million more memories and continue to reminisce on them all, like we do each year.

I do realize that I am being maybe a little too cheesy, but it’s those little thoughts and things in life that I have realized build up to really wonderful things. I love the life that I am living and creating and I am so thankful for that. This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my life and my health and my family and my friends and much much more.
