Abbott Elementary is an American sitcom television series that follows a mockumentary filming pattern. This show was created by Quinta Brunson in 2021 on ABC Network. Abbott Elementary follows the lives of a principal, Ava Coleman, a kindergarten teacher, Barbra Howard, two second-grade teachers, Janine Teagues and Melissa Schemmenti, a first-grade teacher, Tyler James Williams, and the school’s janitor, Mr. Johnson who work at Willard R. Abbott Elementary School. The premise of the film lies in knowing that the school is being filmed for a documentary for underprivileged schools. Abbott Elementary (the school) is in the Philadelphia school district, and the characters constantly mention how little money the school district distributes to the schools – this is important for why the camera crew is at the school.

I absolutely adore this show, and apparently everyone else does too (99% rotten tomato). I started watching about a month ago and have been an avid weekly watcher (I’ve even rewatched a few times). This show has quickly climbed up my ranking of all media I’ve consumed – and I’m not upset about it. This is a feel-good show with a quick pace, and it is very easy to keep up with. All the characters are played so naturally by their actresses/actors and are quirky in their own ways. In my article, I’m going to say what your favorite Abbott Elementary character says about you.

Janine Teagues:

If Ms. Teagues is your favorite character, you have the kindest heart, and I love how deeply you care! Sometimes you come off as a little corny, but you are radiant with sunshine and light up everyone’s days. People often take advantage of your kindness, but you never let their negative energy impact you.

Gregory Eddie:

If Mr. Eddie is your favorite character, you are very calm, cool, and collected (until someone gets ringworm). You know exactly what you like and don’t deviate much from that list. You aren’t shy, but you aren’t outgoing until you get to know your crowd and feel comfortable with whoever you are with.

Jacob Hill:

If Mr. Hill (or Mr. C) you are probably corny. You are fun to be around and care about your loved ones deeply, and if you love, you love hard. You feel comfortable almost anywhere you go, and you don’t let the people you’re around change how you act. You are unapologetically you, and it often works out in your favor.

Barbra Howard:

If Mrs. Howard is your favorite character, you are the mom of your friend group and keep everyone in-line. You always remind people of their morals and what the right thing to do is and have a hard time deviating from your beliefs – but that is not a weakness. You are wise beyond your ears, and everyone immediately feels safe around you.

Melissa Schemmenti:

If Ms. Schemmenti is your favorite character, you know a little something about everyone, and you somehow know everyone. You have connections on connections on connections and you sure do know how to use your resources. You have a big heart, but you do not wear it on your sleeve, and you try to act like you don’t, but you do care deeply.

Ava Coleman:

If Principal Coleman is your favorite character, you have an amazing sense of humor. You don’t play about your affirmations AT ALL and everyone knows it. Sometimes you’re a little lost, but you are always present in your own ways. You keep your personal life personal and are reliable in your own way.

Mr. Johnson:

If Mr. Johnson is your favorite character, you are always on your own wavelength, though never lost. You have your own quirks and are incredibly adventurous with little fears. You are also so unironically hilarious.

Tariq:

Okay I know you guys are like, “What is he doing here, he is not a main character?”, and you’re right. But he is HILARIOUS. I feel like ever single time he shows up on the scream I start laughing until I cry – so I added him!

If Tariq is your favorite character, you are the funniest person in everyone’s life – whether they are willing to admit it or not. You don’t take the same paths as everyone else, and always have different solutions, but somehow always get the issue fixed. Regardless of their opinion, everyone knows who you are and has had a good experience with you.
