Like many, Disney Channel Original Movies were a staple of my childhood. Here is my official ranking of the top 5 DCOMs!

Lemonade Mouth (2011)

In my opinion, “Lemonade Mouth” is the best DCOM of all time. The soundtrack is unreal with hits like “Determinate” and “She’s So Gone.” I love how they did “The Breakfast Club” better than “The Breakfast Club” ever could, and, like everyone, I definitely dreamed of drinking Mel’s Lemonade and joining a misfits-only pop-rock band. The music, the found friendship and the stellar cast make this movie just unbeatable.

Princess Protection Program (2009)

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato were two of the most iconic Disney girls, so “Princess Protection Program” was obviously one of my favorites growing up. The fabulous princess forced to live a normal life trope will always do it for me, and Selena Gomez is perfect as the no-nonsense tomboy daughter who helps her find herself. This is just overall one of the best female friendship movies.

High School Musical 2 (2007)

You can’t talk about Disney Channel Original Movies without talking about “High School Musical,” and I firmly believe that the sequel is the best in the series. The talent in this movie alone gives me chills, and the music and choreography are just fabulous. It is such a fun summer vibe, and I just love everything about it.

The Cheetah Girls (2003)

“The Cheetah Girls” are truly iconic and really paved the way for DCOMs. Everything about this movie is amazing. It is fashion inspo and life inspo all in one. The talent show scene where they realize that their friendship is more important than fame – just wow. Plus, the sequel is equally amazing and hilarious.

Cadet Kelly (2002)

“Cadet Kelly” is one of the most underappreciated DCOMs, and Hilary Duff really put her all into this film. Her fabulousness cannot be contained in this film, even as she has to crawl around in the mud. I love how campy and silly this movie is, and Kelly and Jennifer’s rivalry really did it for me as a kid.
