Small Things You Can Do To Drive Your Crush Crazy

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KU chapter.

As Valentine’s Day rolls around yet again, you may find yourself feeling lonely or even angry at the fact that you don’t have that special someone to celebrate with (not including your gal pals, of course). Even though it’s not a bad thing to be single, it is in our human nature to want to be loved. We need companionship. With that being said, here are a few tips and tricks on how to lock down a guy for next year.

  1. Never fully let him in on your plans. Guys love spontaneity. Even if you’re a person who couldn’t live without their planner (like me), don’t let him know your agenda. Are you going to that party tonight? Maybe you will, maybe you won’t… make him figure it out.

  2. Greet his friends before him. He may be the first person you want to talk to, but if he sees that you’re more excited to talk with his friends than with him, it will make him sooo jealous.

  3. Sounds crazy… but put a spritz of your perfume on that shirt he lets you borrow. I don’t remember where I learned this, but let me tell you, it works like a charm. Not only will it smell nice, but when he wears it, he will not be able to stop thinking about you. When I tested this out on my crush’s sweatshirt, he called me later in the week to tell me that he couldn’t stop thinking about me because his sweatshirt smelled just like me.

  4. Dance like nobody’s watching. If you’re out with your friends, don’t be afraid to let loose even if your crush is around! They’ll be so attracted to you because they’ll know that you can have a good time.

  5. Compliment him on something small, leading into a bigger compliment.   Example: “I like that shirt. It really shows off your shoulders.” Yes, this is a very bold move, but you can do it! It might give him a little bit of an ego boost, but he definitely won’t forget a compliment like that, meaning he won’t forget who it came from.

  6. Smile if he catches you staring. Your crush catching you watching him from afar is something that happens to everyone, so don’t be bashful about it! It’s our instinct to look away or to act like a deer in headlights, but next time try flashing a smile if he sees you. It will make it seem like you did it on purpose and he’ll be flattered that your attention was on him.
