From the perspective of a girl with curly hair, I asked some ladies with naturally straight hair what it’s like to have silky locks. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have such fluffy hair, so I am curious about how these ladies feel about their straight hair and how they maintain it.

Haley Mead (@HaleyLMead), sophomore studying Strategic Communications.

1. How often do you curl your hair? Do the curls hold? Twice a week maybe, but they need a lot of hair spray to hold.

2. What do you do to maintain volume? The only thing I do for volume the way I straighten it. I straighten it up and away from my head and I use a lot of hair spray.

3. What products do you use? I use keratin smooth heat treatment after my shower.

4. Do you ever wish you had curly or wavy hair? I do when I don’t want to straighten my hair because I have to do my hair everyday. It’s short and layered. And I have a cowlick.

Julie Ferrell (@julieannferrell), sophomore studying dance.

1. How often do you curl your hair? Do they hold? Never because it doesn’t stay. I curled it for recruitment and it was gone in one hour.

2. What do you do to maintain volume? I use Big Sexy Hair when I blow dry it and I use volume conditioner in the shower.

3. Do you ever wish you had curly or wavy hair? I wish my hair had more body because it’s dead and it just hangs there. It doesn’t do anything.

4. Do you need to straighten it at all? It takes 5 minutes max to straighten it. I used to do it in high school.

To all you ladies out there with really straight hair, there is hope. And to all you ladies with really big curly hair, having straight hair is not as easy as it looks. Hair spray is the answer for everything.
