Music Review: The Jonas Brothers “Pom Poms”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KU chapter.

The Jonas Brothers have grown up since their 2009 album Lines, Vine and Trying Times. Kevin got married, Joe released his own solo album and Nick starred on Broadway.

The video for their new song “Pom Poms” hit the internet earlier than expected, since it was supposed to be premiered on “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” on April 2. The video features a full marching band, fireworks, a biker gang, a dance-off and a gospel choir.

The sound of the song features some brass, with a hint of blues, soul and dance music that brings a new fire to the old sound of The Jonas Brothers.

The new album, which is currently untitled, has been in a work in progress for almost a year, before it was completed in February.

Joe Jonas told Parade.com, that Bruno Mars inspired the brothers, along with other artists who use a lot of instruments in their live music. The youngest brother, Nick, produced all the music for the new album.
