Five New Fall Shows You’ve Been Missing Out On

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KU chapter.

Fall is wonderful for many reasons. One of the best parts is when all of your favorite TV shows come back on the air. Now that we are well into fall, here are some of my favorite shows this season. If you haven’t tuned in to these shows yet,

  1. Sleepy Hollow (Fox, Tuesdays at 8 p.m.)

It’s creepy, eerie and so much more. Sleepy Hollow just keeps getting better each episode and will always keep you on your toes. It does help that the male lead has a British accent. That makes everything sound better, doesn’t it? It has historical references to the Revolutionary War, which make the show that much more interesting. The fact that Ichabod Crane is amused by all the technological advances is hilarious. It is very dry humor, but nonetheless funny.  It will take you on a lot of twists and turns, not knowing where you will find yourself at the end of each episode.

  1. The Originals (The CW, Tuesdays at 7 p.m.)

Fans of The Vampire Diaries won’t be disappointed in this series. There are no apologies and they react to their every whim. We aren’t dealing with high schoolers who have to get used to the ideas of the supernatural. They know exactly how to embrace it. It never hurts that the cast is easy on the eyes. The show follows Klaus, who wants to claim New Orleans back from his protégé, and the war begins. The romances are intense and so are the fights. In a town where the supernatural and humans work together, there is bound to be some debauchery. It is New Orleans, after all.

  1. Reign (The CW, Thursdays at 8 p.m.)

If you miss Gossip Girl, here is your fix. Instead of taking place in Manhattan, it is all staged in the French court. Things get tricky when you are Mary, Queen of Scots, engaged to the future king of France, Francis. With everything working against her, she always finds a way to stand up for herself. It doesn’t help that her future mother-in-law, Catherine de Medici is sabotaging her at every turn.  The clothes are awesome and I can’t get over how cute the headbands are. Every single episode is filled with awesome headbands. The show isn’t historically accurate, but the drama is enough to keep you watching.

4. Ravenswood (ABC Family, Tuesdays at 7 p.m.)

Think of Pretty Little Liars but instead of dealing with A, they are dealing with ghosts and a curse. Ravenswood always plays up the scare factor in these Instagram filtered episodes. (SPOILER ALERT:) I mean, they had all five characters almost die in car trapped under water, just in the first episode. If that doesn’t catch your attention, I won’t know what will. When you can’t tell the ghosts from an actual human, things tend to get creepy.  The curse drives the show, but I am just dying to find out why it’s happening. Kind of like how you want to find out who A actually is.

  1. Dads (Fox, Tuesdays at 7 p.m.)

If you are fan of Seth McFarland, you will definitely like this show. Seth Green and Giovanni Ribsi are the main characters who are now supporting their fathers. This very sarcastic, humorous show speaks to our generation. It centers on their video game business and their dads constantly disrupting their lives.

Tune in to these fall shows — you won’t be sorry!
